Updates from Trishuli, Nuwakot
Our truck containing the mattresses, bedsheets, pillows and pillowcases arrived safely in Trishuli Bazaar yesterday afternoon and this morning all 40 mattresses and bedsheets and 80 pillows and pillowcases were distributed to grateful recipients.
The need for more bedding materials is still great in that area and we now have in stock 160 more mattresses and bedsheets, along with 320 pillows and pillow covers which we are planning to send to Trishuli Bazaar tomorrow.
We have 2 staff members staying in the area, one each side of the river, to liaise with local officials and other organisations and to assess first hand the needs on the ground, as the situation is changeable. We heard today that the local municipality decided to begin to move people out of the holding centres and encourage them to find private accommodation in the area.
